Pete found his foot! Sitting on Lulu's lap, on July 25. He doesn't really bring his foot to his face; he leans down and goes to it. Another week of unpacking and adjusting to Alabama life. Mat says he feels like he's on a different planet. Not like Pluto, he says, but Canada. This was after we stopped at a peach stand and I got into a five minute conversation about how the peach stand really belonged to the peach seller's son, who was playing soccer, and...you get the idea. Everyone has a story to tell, in the South.
In other news, Pete went to the pediatrician on Tuesday and got five shots! Yikes! He weighed 17 pounds, 1 ounce (79 percentile); was 25.75 inches tall (73 percentile); and had a head circumference of 17.25 inches (96 percentile). He has a big head, like both his mom and dad.

His first overalls, from the Siegers. If there's anything cuter, I haven't seen it.

With his Shena-crafted sock creature! Pete finds it very tasty. He actually stares at it while he's getting his diaper changed. It kind of looks like they're in a stand-off.

At Acre with Lulu

In his sailboat outfit from Aileen, all the way from Bermuda (he liked it, I swear!).

Just hanging out in madras (from Kathleen!), watching us do yard work.

Our back patio. Built in 1958; "The Bum Shelter" is engraved above the pot on the wall. The original owner collected stone from all over the country and brought it back to Auburn. We're glad he did.

Really, really tired....

He's taken to falling asleep in people's arms, which is really cute but messes up his sleep cycle. We live and die by his sleep schedule, over here!

At the Opelika DMV, which was as fun as it sounds.
