Pete's first Thanksgiving! My family was here, and so Pete never touched the ground. He ate some turkey, experienced some fine-ish dining at a restaurant, and went to the Auburn/Bama tailgate.

The only two pictures we have from the meal. Eating and drinking.

Day after breakfast--Pete's second time eating in the dining room.

On the front lawn. Pete likes leaves.

At the Depot. We had a 5:15 reservation, to accomodate Pete's sleep schedule. I was a little worried he'd lose his mind, but he was great.

At Acre, before the tailgate. We don't know how to tailgate, so we showed up as the game was starting, when everyone else had already left! Apparently, tailgating starts hours before the actual game. I realize this probably makes no sense to those unacquainted with tailgate culture. I could write a book about football in the South, except that I don't understand it. Anyway, we had the tailgate to ourselves, with one other person (a Bama fan!).

Mr. Pickle

On the way to the tailgate, our tailgate offering in tow (the wine, not Pete).

The tents are the tailgates. I've never actually seen anyone tailgate from an actual tailgate, but I assume that's how the tradition started?

With his aunt, who got into the spirit of things.

At Zazu on Sunday, in downtown Opelika

He doesn't like getting licked by Feenie. It happens about two dozen times a day.

At the Christmas Tree farm. Will go into more detail next post, but it is a lot of freaking work to purchase and set-up a Christmas tree.

My grad students came over for the last day of class and Pete fell asleep while the party raged on without him.

Newk's in a turtleneck.
