Pete and I flew to Ocala for Mother's Day. It was the first time I'd navigated the airport alone (last time Mat got a pass and came to the gate with me). The way there was bad--Pete melted down in the terminal (he was hungry). Everyone avoided eye contact. The way back was a lot better. In Ocala, Pete played with Kat and Butler, went to Symphony Under the Stars for Mother's Day, and got a lot of attention.

At Symphony Under the Stars

His squad. Pete was obsessed with them, especially the boy.

Chance he would sit in a wagon and let me roll him around for fifteen minutes? Zero percent.

Can you spot Pete and Lulu?

A petting zoo, where we were the only customers! We paid our entry fee and then we were left completely alone--it was great. Pete was entranced by the pigs. I think he would still be standing there if we hadn't moved him along.

Afraid I'm going to take his rocks away (he has one in each hand)

The much calmer trip back

A friend we met in the Orlando airport--Pete kept going up to him and touching his shoulder. Ethan didn't know what to think.
