The Rash

This consumed our life for about five days. We came home from eating barbecue and Pete was scratching his thighs; we undressed him and saw he was covered in welts. I kind of freaked out, searching for the Benadryl (you don't want me flying your plane), and then we called the nurse, who assured us it was either a food allergy or that he'd brushed up against something. He woke up the next morning much worse, and then he kept getting worse. On Thursday he had welts on the bottoms of his feet, and it hurt him to walk. He was a pretty good sport about it, but he wasn't comfortable. Benadryl didn't affect it at all.

The doctor took one look at it and told us it was a penicillin allergy, which he was on for an ear infection. Which at least is pretty easily avoidable.

Mat asked Pete how it felt to be 50% as cute as he usually was.

Didn't dampen his appetite. He's like his mama in that way.

This was the worst. Our second trip to the doctor's office. His poor little face was swollen.
