Pete got a swing set! It was so expensive! Mat says that it will be worth it if Pete plays on it for 1.5 hours a day until he's 15.

He likes it. And we've been having a lot of playdates. Part of the reason we liked this house is because it has a walk-out basement, so we have a big playroom for Pete. Kids come over and go from the swing set to the playroom.

My mom and dad at the cabin in Lake Martin. Lake Martin is where everyone in Auburn (and Birmingham, and Montgomery) goes.

The After Party at Target! I was perhaps more excited about my book being at a big-box retail store than I should have been...

Trying to find Mat's bellybutton. (He's obsessed with our bellybuttons. And his babysitter's. And my mom's. When he nursed he used to touch my bellybutton, so I think it's a leftover soothing technique.)

The cats are out again. At our old house we kept them in our master suite area, because they befouled the rest of the house. They haven't done that here yet. Fingers crossed.

Yep, a scorpion! In Alabama. Pete was in bed with me (it was about 5:30 AM) and he kept saying "ew" and I looked up and could not believe my eyes.

I think I took this to show my mom our new bedroom situation. It looks a lot like the old one.

With a Feenie decal. Long story.

Ready for preschool

I found this on our old sitter's instagram (Sarah was Pete's very first babysitter). He was so little!!!

At TCBY

Preschool class, minus John Patton and Becca

Sweeping the front lawn in the rain. As one does.

I love his eyebrows here. So mobile!

Courtlyn took this

Mat made this for my birthday. I love it.

At his check up

He has a hairy back.

My birthday lunch. Us at 11 AM, waiting for the restaurant to open.
