Pete is chatting up a storm. He's very empathetic, but mainly to objects. He's fascinated by a window screen at preschool--it's torn, and he's just found the words to point and say "It's broken, it's broken. Owie." Before, he just pointed and stared. He walks right into school without looking back. Sometimes I stay and spy for a minute--he seems careful around other children. Except when they're in his house. In that case, he becomes extremely possessive and unsportsmanlike in the sharing of his toys.

He calls this book "No Dogs"

Fascinated by bugs. He said "dead bug" the other day.

I went to Houston for a book event (see above and below!) and it was the first time Pete could articulate my absence. Mat kept sending me these sad videos where Pete was saying, over and over again, "Mama gone? Gone? Mama gone?"

Hot chocolate and pajama day at Grace!

Mat took him to his last day of class (students were handing in their finals). Pete stood there, amazed, with a finger very close to his nose.

He likes "drawing" now

On campus with dad

Lulu bought him this jacket in Houston and he loves it.
