April went by in a blur. I think that's what children do, blur your life, speed time up, etc.

Easter! Out of order because it's from my mom's phone.

Morning time! Lee is ready to go, Hank is checking out his stomach behind her.

I discovered I could proof sourdough in my toaster oven.

I'm getting better at it. I'm not good at baking, or really anything that requires a great deal of patience, but sourdough is pretty foolproof once you get the fermentation part down.

Lee was helping me

Matching Messis

Missing a tooth!

Telling me to do something

Morning time

Mat set up an enormous soccer goal in our backyard

Mat's arch nemesis. He spent a lot of time in March and April fighting birds. This one would fly into our garage whenever it was open and try to nest.

Nana and Papa visited!

I organized our garage...

We went to brunch with my parents...

And to an art day at the Jule...

And Nana and Papa read a lot of books.

We expanded our laundry room!

Hank without his front teeth was, as my mom put it, about the cutest thing going

We went to get fro-yo after allergy shots

The joys of parenthood! This was at an Easter celebration at my parents' country club.

The first time she let me do anything to her hair. These are "pink tails"

The remodel took about 3 weeks...

At school! The little girl on the left, in the orange dress, is Melody. One day Lee came home and said she played with "Manatee" and I said oh, okay...and then I remembered Melody and said "Oh, Melody!" And she said, "Yes, Manatee!" It reminded me of the time Hank had a friend named "Bucket." We went to school and I met a boy named "Beckett." "Oh," I said to Hank, "Beckett." He looked at me like I was an idiot and said "Yes, Bucket."

Opelika hosts an outdoor story on Saturday mornings, with goats! The goats aren't part of the story hour but we visit them afterward.

I have dreams of these cubbies changing our household organization....

My parents took the kids one night and I made steaks.

Lee is very into make-up. Why? My mother, Wuwu, who lets her go to town in her purse.

The anti-nesting spikes, atop which a bird built a nest.

You can see the frog near Pete's hand. Lee was beside herself.

These little bugs (baby assassin bugs) hatched and then stayed together like this for a day or two. The boys and I kept close watch.

I don't know why I'm including all these laundry room photos, but it was a big part of our lives for the better part of April!
