The end of summer. It starts early in the South--end of May--and then kids go back to school the first or second week of August. I went back to North Carolina with Pete and Hank stayed here with Mat. And our backyard got redone! Drainage issues. I'll spare you the details but they consumed my life for a while.

It was a disaster zone before this. Basically the builder should have done stuff he did not do (shocking! an incompetent builder!). If I had to do it over again I would have have made the yard smaller, and not done a swing set.

That's Mat down there. I worried about the grass before it went in; then he took over worrying about it, which was fantastic for me!

Pete creates these little dioramas. The only issue is that he wants to save them forever.

Back in Boone!

At an Art Fair. The only person who can outshop Donna is Pete. It was her birthday recently, and he said, to Hank, Wuwu is getting older and older, and then she'll die and we can get all her collections!

He made a lot of these at my parents' house. He can occupy himself for hours with art. As my friend David said, the world is an oyster for a boy who loves the arts! Lol

Junior's spot. Little dogs just do what they want

Pete learned to swim this summer. Hank did not.
