We were in the thick of the pandemic at this point. Writing this nearly a year ago (on March 20, 2021) I'm amazed by how quickly our lives changed. The boys were home with us 24-7. My parents came from Friday to Monday or Tuesday, usually. We ate a lot of good food and tried to get Pete interested in Zoom learning (it didn't work) and settled into a routine pretty quickly. I didn't mind it, to be honest. If one could ignore the devastation happening in the greater world, of course...

Lulu and I were tired of washing 1,000 cups a day so we ordered these.

Sweetest boy

These were the first masks we ordered, from an Etsy lady. I still walk through the grocery store and see everyone in masks and am shocked that they so quickly became an omnipresent part of our lives. Anyway, these masks were terrible, thick and smothering, but we were glad to get them. It was before we developed mask preferences!

Pete, in my clothes

My mom painted this dresser for me. On Mother's Day! I was supposed to help, but I'm not good at painting.

I think this used to be my mom's. She's incredibly creepy and Pete loves her (still does). Calls her "Girl baby."

For a while Pete pulled his shorts up like this--this was right when he was returning to preschool, at the end of May. It drove me crazy. Mat kept telling me he'd stop, and one day he did, and whenever the kids are going through a phase Mat uses the shorts up the crotch episode to remind me how quickly phases pass.

Hankie turned 2!

Aubie came through the neighborhood. Masked! This was the first time we had really been around other people since the beginning of March. It made me incredibly nervous.
